Hotel Panorama: Water Management Solutions
Our team provided custom water management solutions for the 5-storey Hotel Panorama, ensuring smooth operation of stormwater, wastewater,
and potable water systems. Together with Jordan Plumbing and Sarah Constructions, we designed an Envirolift stormwater pump station, DrainAce Poly sewer pump station, and a triple booster system to guarantee water pressure and wastewater removal for the hotel.
Project overview
With the development of the South Australian T2D project about to commence on South Road, many businesses have had to either close or relocate. This was the case for the Chrysler Bar and Tonsley Hotel (which was located just 300 meters from Global Water’s head office), leading to the commencement of The Hotel Panorama project. This new five-story hotel includes 77 accommodation rooms and studio apartments, demanding precise and high-quality infrastructure. Our involvement aimed to ensure that the hotel's complex water management needs were met with excellence and reliability through our range of tailored products.
In this project, we collaborated with Jordan Plumbing, a respected hydraulic services contractor in South Australia and the Northern Territory with 80 years of experience, and industry powerhouse Sarah Constructions, experts known for building trust through consistent project delivery. Well known engineers in the industry were also engaged with and together, we developed a comprehensive water management solution for the new Hotel, addressing its unique requirements with our specialised products.
The Challenges
Stormwater Envirolift Pump Station – With the invert level of the inlet specified on the site plans at 3.2m, the storage capacity needed to be accommodated below this, leading to a pump station solution with a depth of 4m.
Sewer Poly Pump Station - The sewer pump station required dual 3-phase grinder pumps capable of managing low flow rates with a high system head.
Potable Water e-Booster System – The potable water system for the hotel's five stories demanded a consistent water pressure across 77 accommodation rooms, calling for a booster system equipped with fault monitoring capabilities.
the solution
Stormwater Envirolift Pump Station – An Envirolift concrete pump station was selected because of its highly customiable modular design. By being able to increase the height by using concrete increments, the deep invert level was allowed for.
Sewer Poly Pump Station - Dual submersible grinder pumps were selected as they are suitable for handling low flow and high head duties.
Potable Water e-Booster System – The e-booster’s duty point was specified by Lucid’s well known engineers in industry. A triple e-Boost booster system was selected to ensure consistent water supply throughout all 5 stories. The system also included a controller with BMS output for fault relaying, offering real-time monitoring.
the results
The selection of pump systems for Hotel Panorama promises reliable and efficient water management for the five-story development. By opting for a 4m Envirolift concrete pump station, stormwater can be efficiently stored and removed, ensuring proper drainage. The 5000L DrainAce Poly sewer pump station, featuring dual 3-phase grinder pumps, is designed to seamlessly manage the hotel’s wastewater discharge. Additionally, the triple e-Boost booster system has been chosen to ensure consistent water pressure for 77 accommodation rooms, reflecting Global Water's capability to provide tailored, dependable solutions.
